When House of Wolves was released for Destiny I became a reroll addict, dumping any glimmer and weapon parts I had into the Weaponsmith chasing those perfect rolls. I thought I would be able to kick my addiction when Bungo corrected their own mistake and made rerolling guns obsolete. Unfortunately they added a new system for chasing rolls called Armsday. Now, every Wednesday, I pay 7,500-22,500 glimmer for the privilege of 3 fewer weapon slots in my inventory. This is a new weekly post I plan on doing related to Armsday where I will list notable rolls and make recommendations.
There has been a quiet group of fusion rifle users since the beginning of Destiny that stuck with them through the dark times. Now fusion rifles are in a place now where they are gaining popularity in the PvP community. If you have taken a sip of the Fusion Rifle Kool-Aid and want to give them a try, pick up the Thesan FR4 package this week.
If you like firing “ghost bullets” the low base range Kumakatok HC4 Hand Cannon could be for you! I have a package from last week that I plan on holding this week.
Suros PDX-41 is a decent enough pulse rifle if you’re in the market, there is a pretty good roll this week if you bought a package previously. I’ll probably turn in my package pick up a new one.
This is a 4 round burst pulse that pulls a bit too far up and to the left for my liking so I’m waiting on a Perfect Balance/ Counterbalance, Headseeker roll on this. I have been holding a Lyudmila-D package for weeks now.
The sniper rifle update made this sniper a bit better, but I’m still not a fan.
The PvP community won’t even look at a Suros gun without the SPO-28 sight, but the first roll is plagued by Private Eye. If you don’t care about sights (you should care about sights) Roll 2 looks interesting with perfect balance, reinforced barrel and focused fire. It’s a high rate of fire auto rifle with 88 fire rate and 8 impact which is my personal favorite kind of auto rifle currently so I won’t be getting roll 2. Roll 3 has a ton of range with Hammer Forged and Injection Mold which helps the low base range of the gun. Rodeo may be a deal breaker for some. I’m going to hold this week.

There are two luck in the chamber rolls to choose from, pick Firefly if you want a gun so powerful it crashes your game or Outlaw to reload quicker. The Firefly issue has existed since Taken King was released and probably should be fixed... Eventually. Kumakatok has low range so I think I’ll hold off on turning this package in until I see a good set of range perks.
Roll 2 could be a good roll with SPO-28, Hammer Forged, Headseeker, and Hand Laid Stock. Partial Refund is a waste of a perk slot on primary in my opinion. He is selling the PDX-41 this week so I think I’ll get roll 2 and pick up a new PDX-41 package this week.
The PDX-45 has a low base range so I like to see the Hammer Forged on roll 2, I also like Smallbore which rolls 1 and 3 have. Counterbalance would be my pick out of the middle perks listed above. So in conclusion if those perks were on the same gun I would get it. They aren’t on the same gun though so I’m holding my package this week.
All of these are appealing. Roll 1 has SPO-28, Hammer Forged, Hidden Hand, Rifled Barrel for great Range and extra Aim Assist. Roll 2 doesn’t have SPO-28, but makes up for that by having the Perfect Balance/Counterbalance combo with Reinforced Barrel for range. Perfect balance tightens your spread while counterbalance transfers horizontal recoil to vertical recoil. Roll 3 also doesn’t have the SPO-28, but it has Hammer Forged, Unflinching, and Snapshot which makes for a nice PvP scout. Any of these will be a good pickup. I know that next week’s roll will be a “god roll” since I’m planning on picking up roll 2, but the PB/CP combo is too tempting not to pick up.
Buy roll 2. SC Holo is considered the best sight and it’s coupled with Counterbalance and Braced Frame. The only thing missing is Crowd Control which is not the important perk on this gun. Last Resort can help in 3’s playlists. As you may have guessed I’m picking up roll 2 which means next week will have Holo, CC, CB, BF on all 3 rolls.
Roll 3 could be fun, some extra stagger from High Caliber Rounds and more ammo on your clip with Casket Mag sounds fine. Perfect Balance and Casket mag on roll 1 looks good as well. I’m gonna hold this week.
There’s Full Auto on roll 1 if you miss Visions of Confluence from year 1. Fitted Stock with Snapshot isn’t a bad perk combo, but it could be better. Roll 3 has some range on it, maybe too much range, guns do have a max range that perks can boost them to and Feather Mag is not a good alternate perk.
Lots of Zen Movement here. Roll 1 has Torch, Hand Laid Stock, and Zen Movement which doesn’t sound dreadful. I’m gonna hold off another week.
I see the Torch sight talked about whenever the Cocytus is brought up so if that sight is your jam, congratulations! Roll 2 with Hot Swap, Injection Mold, and Life Support looks like the best one here. I’m going to frequently swap to secondary so Hot Swap is great here. Injection Mold kind of sucks on FR but it’s better than skip rounds. Life Support helps when people get shots off on you as you charge, if you manage to get the kill healing up is nice. If I had a Thesan package I would personally hold on to it.
Ammmmmmmooooooooo. Roll 2 has performance bonus and clown cartridge, if it also had casket mag I would probably be jealous. On a related note, does anyone know if this gun is still sold by the weapon smith?
